OUR HISTORY (2022 - 2026)

West Brisbane Volleyball Club (Wests) was first established in 2022. Fresh out of school from Brisbane Boys College, the club was born out of a passion to continue playing and to grow the sport at the school.

Our first year wasn't all to special, training out of Kenmore SHS and Corinda SHS, we managed to muster up 6 teams of players from BBC, ATC, Nudgee, and surrounding schools to compete in PVL across 6 divisions. It wasn't much, but the love of the game kept us going.

In our second and third year, we started to climb onto the podium claiming medals at Junior State Championships and PVL. By 2025, we had made it back home again, having found our new home at Brisbane Boys’ College, back where this dream had all started. We closed out the year in style claiming Gold in Mens Challenger at PVL, as well as two Golds at the VQ Junior State Championships, one in U17 Boys, and one in U19 Boys - defending our title for 3-years straight.

In 2026, we welcomed the beginning of our Womens Program as well as our Junior Training Program, two welcome additions to our club offerings allowing our club to reach even further. We again defended our U17 Champions title at State Championships retaining the Gold, and claimed a podium finish with a Bronze in Mens Challenger at PVL. As the year closed, we formed a partnership with Brisbane Boys’ College, Nudgee College, and St Joseph’s Gregory Terrace, the Top 3 Volleyball Schools in the GPS, in order to offer a competitive PVL pathway for their athletes.

As we enter our fifth year in 2027, we’re excited to see how far we go as a club can go, and we’d be honoured if you joined us in that journey.
